Despite finishing 13th in the NBA's Eastern Conference in 2015-16 with a record of 32-50, the season wasn't all bad for the Knicks. Kristaps Porzingis, the franchise’s 2015 first-round draft pick, provided the Knicks with energy and hope for the future.

Few fans were initially thrilled with the Knicks taking the 7-foot-3-inch, 240-pound power forward as the fourth overall pick in the draft; in fact, an infamous scene from draft night showed a heartbroken child crying and booing Porzingis as the pick. Since then, however, Porzingis has been embraced by fans thanks to his impressive rookie season, which earned him a spot on the NBA's All-Rookie team.

As for the child who cried on draft night, he's now Porzingis' biggest fan and even got to play a one-on-one game against his favorite Knick.
